Title: Diaphanous left dying

Pieces created as part of a residency at Kings School, Canterbury

Materials: glass, rope

"My project at Kings focused on music and cosmology. Vibrations issue through nature. With the discovery of Super string theory musical metaphors took on a whole new reality. The theory suggested that the microscopic landscape is suffused with patterns of vibration that orchestrate every level of the cosmos.

I looked at the work of the 1970's physicist Hans Jenny. Cymatics, as he called it, visibly manifested beautiful geometric patterns in inert materials. I tied this in with the A-level students 'Art and music' project."
