It was whilst gently handling these objects at Killerton that I discovered the book which, I've since realised, is widely considered a bible in the field of historical dress. Nancy Bradfield, author of Costume in Detail 1730-1930, must be admired if only for her ability to draw. The amount of detail this book also contains however is extraordinary.
